Your body has 7 main energy centers that allow energy to flow throughout your body. They govern the way we think and feel about ourselves, others, and the world. If any of our chakras become blocked it can manifest itself as mental or physical illnesses such as ; confusion, anxiety, fear, tension, headaches, lack of energy and other negative experiences. When you begin doing work on your chakras it's important to start working on your root chakra first as working on any chakra effects the chakras as they are all connected and constantly communicating with each other.
The root chakra is located at the base of your spine and is associated with feelings of safety and security and it has most of it's effects on our financial and sex lives. When our root chakra is in balance our needs are taken care or easily, we feel confident and secure in ourselves and we are filled with passion.

So how do I balance my root chakra?
Balancing your root chakra can be done a few different ways. Simply wearing or visualizing the color red begins to open your root chakra. Chanting LAM (pronounced LANG), walking outside barefoot, eating red foods, meditating, red or black crystals such as ruby garnet onyx and reiki healing. Many of us have day jobs and end up getting stuck in our heads all day wether answering phone calls or doing computer work and never take the time to get properly grounded. You only need to set aside about five minutes a day to meditate and realign your energies for it to be beneficial. Balance your root chakra today to feel confident, secure, and grounded!
